2001年纽约世贸大楼恐怖袭击事件的罹难者人数应当是2749人。
当中，世贸大楼遇难华人共有21位，其中来自内地7人，香港2人，台湾地区9人，另有3名记者未证实移民前具体地区；此外在撞击华盛顿五角大楼的飞机中，有3名华人遇难，2人为中国公民，1人为美籍华人。
