Cradle of Filth 风格：黑暗金属
成立于1992年，来自英国的Colchester，在乐风上，他们受到了一些老团如: Celtic Frost、 Bathory、Diamanda Galas和Mercyful Fate等的影响，同时也具备了一些大文豪如拜伦、雪莱和尼采等同样的思想特质:悲观而厌世。这些都可以在他们的音乐中找到。在当时，由斯堪地那维亚半岛所带领的Black Metal潮流正风起云涌，许多新进团体纷纷成立，而音乐走向也取法挪威派的黑金属，而这样的结果，造成了彼此音乐的重叠性，往往听了一个团就不用听其他的团，在这种情形下Cradle Of Filth横空出世！他们以独立的风格迅速风靡了整个欧洲，他们自称：“The Only True English Black Metal Band”（唯一真正的英国黑金属乐团）。
　　难以置信的事情往往就是这样突然发生的，Sony唱片英国公司收编了Cradle Of Filth并推出了全新录音室专辑《Damnation and a Day》。封套设计之精美令人咋舌，有单曲打榜，有Music Video，有主流音乐杂志发评论，甚至还可以在官方网站下载手机铃声。伴随着一系列的商业运作，这个长期在黑暗世界称霸的堕落天使终于在末日降临前回到了人间，然而正因为如此也令到部分老歌迷不能接受，被Sony收偏后其作品有很大的商业性质，新的歌曲明显比以前差了很多。很多人都说"当恶魔脱离了地狱，它就什么都不是了！黑暗世界不需要那些自认为是的商业流行来插手！"希望Cradle of Filth能早日回归，不要再迷途在纸醉金迷的商业中，继续为我们创造出更好的黑暗圣经。
