广东省茂名原市委书记、市人大常委会主任罗荫国涉嫌职务犯罪案件又有新进展，茂名市又有两名官员因涉及罗荫国案件而被带走协助调查。
《第一财经日报》从茂名市获得多方面证实，茂名市茂港区原区委书记、区人大常委会主任钟火明和茂港区原区委常委、常务副区长谭伟华，于2月16日被广东省检察院办案人员带走协助调查。
有知情官员透露，钟火明和谭伟华被带走协助调查是涉及罗荫国涉嫌职务犯罪案件。
根据茂港区人民政府的网站资料介绍，钟火明之前负责区委、区人大全面工作；谭伟华协助区长主持区政府日常工作，分管财政、金融、税务、工商管理、内贸、供销、粮食、食品、烟草、国有资产、农金会资产、市场物业、机关事务工作。
上述知情官员表示，虽说是协助调查，但钟火明的工作已经全部交接，目前由茂港区区长姚信敏全面主持区委、区政府工作。
茂名市位于广东省西南部，现辖高州、化州、信宜、茂南区、茂港区、电白县等六个行政区，其中茂港区位于茂名市南部，是茂名市两个沿海县（区）之一，区内建成有茂名30万吨乙烯厂和茂名石化工业园区重点项目建设工程，属国家重化工业基地之一。
罗荫国主政茂名期间，茂港区也曾暴出官员腐败案件，包括茂港区原区委常委、政法委书记、区公安分局局长杨强涉嫌受贿罪和涉黑案，以及茂港区人民法院原院长严得因涉嫌案件执行及经济问题案件等被双规。
而发生在去年6月份的茂港区民政局副局长铁锤锤击正局长事件，更是轰动一时。
